About
I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society. Since completing my clinical doctorate at UCL, I have worked in Child and Adolescent Mental Health (focussing on assessment and formulation of children presenting with a range of emotional, behavioural and physical problems) and Adult Mental Health (specialising in severe personality disorder).
My main research and clinical interest lies in lifespan perspectives on attachment theory and the relationship to adult psychopathology. Within this framework, I am also interested in systemic thinking as an approach to deconstructing brain-behaviour relationships.
My current clinical work is in Primary Care, where I lead a Parent Infant Psychology Service, promoting early intervention and preventative work from within Children's Centres in the community. I also have a specific role in developing a joint initiative with Professor Bateman and colleagues, providing Mentalisation Based Treatment (MBT, Bateman & Fonagy, 2006) for parents with a personality disorder; whilst also delivering interventions for presenting problems in the child.
