Faculty Member, English Literature
About
I have taught at the University of Hertfordshire since 1994. My teaching covers twentieth-century literature with interests in British and North American literature after 1950. I teach undergraduate modules on British writing after 1945, twentieth- century North American literature, science fiction, utopian and dystopian writing and an MA module in working-class writing.
My research interests include British women's writing, working-class writing, feminist science fiction and representations of dystopia in literature and film.
I am currently working on two collections of essays; one on dystopian literature and film and a collection of essays on the British novelist Pat Barker. Forthcoming projects include a book on British women's writing, 'Angry Young Women' and the working-class novel.
